Ottawa Grace Manor’s Spiritual Care department assists people in drawing upon their own religious beliefs and spiritual resources as they seek to face the challenges or crisis before them.

Residents receive one-to-one visits and support from the Spiritual Care Department. A Chaplain is on-call 24 hours seven days a week to provide counseling and support to residents, families, staff, and volunteers. A Chaplain is also available to conduct funeral/memorial services for residents.

Spiritual Care activities include:

  • 2:00 pm Sunday Chapel Service. These services are conducted by various denominations.
  • Roman Catholic Mass is celebrated once a month in the Community Room/Chapel.
  • “Circle of Blessing” is an evening of sacred music and praise held monthly. This is an informal time of singing and enjoying special musical accompaniment provided by a local church.
  • Weekly Hymn Sing (devotion and hymns) is conducted on each floor.
  • Bible study is held alternate weeks in the activity room on 2nd and 3rd floor.
  • Memorial Services are held at Ottawa Grace Manor in memory of residents and associates.
  • The Salvation Army band visits the manor on the 2nd Sunday of each month.
  • A locked prayer box is placed in the Quiet Room for all residents, families, staff, volunteers, and visitors to benefit from.
  • A Quiet Room is provided for staff, residents and family members who would like to spend time reflecting, praying or reading. A number of books are available to borrow.
